WordPress Database Backups

Posted on February 3, 2014

When it comes to backing up your WordPress content…it can be a scary thought.  Basically there are one of two ways you can accomplish this task.  The first way is to go into your MySQL database and export a copy of the tables manually which always brings to mind the image of a kid in an antique shop handling the glass items under the watchful eye of the “You break it, you buy it” sign.  For most people this option is downright frightening.  But calm down, I didn’t say that was the only way to get it done.  The second method is to use a plug-in.  A simple, beautiful plug-in.  You can even set the backup to run manually on a certain schedule.  Ah, the beauty of plug-ins.  It’s my experience the best and most popular WordPress backup plug-in is WP-DB-Backup.  For those of you who learn best by seeing…check out the tutorial below on how to setup this lifesaving application.
