If you’ve ever spent any time searching through the WordPress theme repository you know that it is easy to lose track of time. It’s even easier to get lost when you start pouring through the websites that are offering free responsive WordPress themes. A Google search of “free responsive WordPress themes” returned about 6,940,000 results…in just under .42 seconds I might add.
So how are you supposed to sort through all of this nonsense? You don’t have time to scour the ends of the Earth for a free responsive WordPress theme. You just want something that looks professional, is fully functional, and costs you as much as a walk in the park.
So here you have it…my gift to you. I have saved you all of the effort of wading through the internet for the perfect theme and bring you my top 3 FREE responsive WordPress themes. These are in no particular order and offer different functionality so be sure to test each demo to see which one fits your project.
Interstellar
InterStellar is a fully featured theme that offers lots of great layout options including multiple portfolio page layouts and a homepage slider. I really like the simplicity of this theme and a built in theme options interface allows you to update the theme’s colors, logo, and even add your Google Analytics code for tracking site visitors. A great feature is the portfolio post type, which will assist you in getting your portfolio up and live in minutes. If you are into shortcodes, this theme won’t disappoint allowing you to add columns, buttons, Google maps and more. Be sure to check out this great theme by UFO Themes.
Stanley
This self-described “cute” theme is my kind of build. It boasts a bootstrap foundation with semantically coded pages and a no-nonsense layout that puts the focus on your content. The Stanley theme may look thin but it is full of great features including a robust theme options panel, portfolio post types, three page templates and a drag and drop homepage builder which takes the restriction off of your content. If you are looking for a clean, responsive first theme for your content be sure to check out Stanley by Gents Themes.
Point
Point by My Theme Shop is a responsive theme which looks to be built around a magazine style layout. It features an option-rich customization panel, giving you options for backgrounds and colors, multiple site layouts, and even control certain features of the theme. I really liked the fact that it comes pre-packaged with a related posts widget to keep your site visitors entertained and engaged while on your site.
